Sand & refinish
Hardwood Sanding
& Refinishing.
Worn, scratched or dull hardwood can often be sanded and refinished instead of replaced. We'll look at your floors and tell you honestly whether refinishing will work.

What we do
Refinish first.
Replace only if needed.
One of hardwood's biggest advantages is that it can be sanded and refinished multiple times. Sanding takes off the old finish along with surface scratches and wear, and a fresh finish goes on.
Not every floor is a candidate. Boards that are too thin, badly water-damaged or loose may need repair or replacement. We'll tell you straight at the free estimate, and if replacement makes more sense, we install new hardwood, LVP and laminate too.
Good candidates
- Solid hardwood with surface scratches and wear
- Floors where the finish has worn through in traffic paths
- Hardwood uncovered under old carpet

FAQ
Refinishing
questions.
How many times can hardwood be refinished?
Solid hardwood can usually be sanded and refinished several times over its life. How many depends on how much wood is left above the tongue, which we check at the estimate.
Can engineered hardwood be refinished?
Sometimes. It depends on how thick the top layer of real wood is. Some engineered floors can be sanded; others are too thin. We'll look at yours and tell you.
Should I refinish or replace my floors?
If the boards are solid and there's enough wood left, refinishing usually costs less than new flooring. Water damage, loose boards or worn-through wood can make replacement the better call.
Do you also install new floors?
Yes. Hardwood, LVP, laminate, carpet and tile, all available at our Maryland Heights showroom.
